There’s a Pit Bull on the East Coast of the United States who wants a home more than anything in the world. Her name is Scarlett and she’s just 5-years old. Her story will undoubtedly move you.
Scarlett has only one eye and is also deaf. She has been at the Animal Welfare League of Queen Anne’s County in Maryland for over 3 years — that’s over half of this sweet girl’s entire life.
The staff at the shelter says that she wins over everyone’s heart that meets here — they just never bring her home. They’ll sit on the dog bed with her, pet her super soft fur, and play with her and her favorite KONG toy.
The shelter manager who knows Scarlett very well says she’s a big “cuddle bug” and absolutely loves to give kisses. She’s very healthy (despite her past) but is not very active — she loves lounging.
Scarlett the Pit Bull was brought to the shelter in 2013 because of her chronic medical problems that her owner couldn’t afford. She suffered from bad ear infections which likely lead to her deafness.
But now this 42-pound beauty really wants to go to a warm loving home. Find out how you can help and learn more about Scarlett on the next page. You can make a difference in her and another dog’s life!
